ATTORNEY TROY J. WEBBER

JACKSONVILLE CRIMINAL DEFENSE

Jacksonville criminal attorney Troy J. Webber is a graduate of the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. At UF Law, Mr. Webber focused his studies on business law and criminal defense, maintaining a grade point average of  3.59 and graduating in the top 16% of his class. While a second year law student, Mr. Webber served as a law clerk at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida in Jacksonville. There, he assisted federal prosecutors in the preparation of complex criminal cases and wrote appellate briefs submitted to the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Upon graduation from UF Law, Mr. Webber hired on with the Office of the Public Defender for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit in and for Brevard County, Florida. As an Assistant Public Defender, he handled thousands of criminal cases in a wide variety of offense areas, and committed himself to learning the craft of a trial lawyer. He conducted dozens of trials over the course of his career and repeatedly demonstrated a fearless approach to putting a case before a jury. Mr. Webber drafted and argued numerous Circuit Court criminal appeals and fought for the rights of clients in dozens of Motions to Suppress evidence. He acquired additional experience in Baker Act proceedings, competency proceedings, “Stand Your Ground” motions, and challenges to the constitutionality of various criminal statutes.

Since entering private practice in Jacksonville, Mr. Webber has continued to aggressively defend the rights of the criminally accused. His style of criminal practice sends to Jacksonville prosecutors a clear message of trial readiness and an uncompromising commitment to outcomes that protect the interests of his clients. Mr. Webber is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
